Just when you thought campus dining couldn’t get any better, Kung Fu Tea’s relatively-new Urbana location (on the same strip as the well-established bb.q Chicken) is bringing poke to the party.
Poke is a type of dish made famous in Hawaii, consisting of chopped raw seafood, along with rice and various garnishes. The Urbana location of Kung Fu Tea is now adding poke to its menu, complementing its already-existing offerings of boba tea, matcha, or coffee. Whether you're interested in a variety of boba flavors, or are craving a taste for something new, Kung Fu Tea will offer you new items and promotions that you wouldn’t want to miss.
The poke comes in four different varieties — tuna, salmon, veggie mix or Hawaiian, with the option of spicy or regular.

I decided to try the spicy tuna poke bowl paired with their popular original milk tea. The poke bowl was a delicious combination of fresh and flavorful ingredients – creamy avocado, fresh tuna, crunchy edamame, and spicy mayo for added kick. The vibrant colors of the bowl made the food just as enjoyable to the eye as it was to my palette.
Alongside the poke bowl, their best-selling original milk tea did not leave me disappointed. It was the perfect balance of smooth and refreshing, thanks to the added texture of boba.
I left completely satisfied with this pairing. Now I’ve got a new go-to spot with a clean and welcoming atmosphere for the perfect dining experience.
Kung Fu Tea’s new poke options kick off this week with a promotion just in time for the upcoming finals season.

The poke deal is only available at Kung Fu Tea’s Urbana location. You can visit the restaurant at 700 S Gregory St in Urbana. The restaurant is open Monday to Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
